A visual chess environment

Explore an entire chess game as a sequence of boards

Meier Chess shows the successive positions of one game together in a pan-and-zoom world. The boards are related states of that game—not separate simultaneous games.

Meier Chess features

See the game as a visual world

A PGN game becomes a spatial sequence of related chessboards. Each visible board represents one numbered fullmove of the same game, making its evolution easier to follow and compare.

Explore and explain positions

Pan and zoom across the game, inspect individual positions, track pieces, and add arrows, square highlights, move assessments, and comments without treating each board as a separate game.

Bring complete PGN games

Import PGN from a file or pasted text while preserving moves, metadata, comments, assessments, and variations in the normalized game model.

Play and review with an engine

Play against the computer or watch computers play, then replay and evaluate the finished game. Stockfish runs locally in a browser Worker rather than on a remote chess server.

Built for the browser

The chess workspace and engine run in your browser. No account is required, and interface preferences are stored locally in that browser. Meier Chess does not operate a game-data backend.
